Rosa & James: A Love Story that Began at a Speed Dating Event
Rosa and James’s love story is proof that you never know where you’ll find your perfect match. The two met at a speed dating event hosted by @TorontoDatingHub, and their connection was instant. Fast forward to their wedding day, and the person who brought them together was also the emcee for their reception, adding a fun, full-circle element to their celebration.
From the moment I first met Rosa and James during my engagement shoot contest in 2023, I could tell they were something special. They won second place, and we had such a great time capturing their engagement session. When they saw the photos, they loved them so much they booked me for their wedding! Building that rapport made their big day all the more exciting to photograph.
Getting Ready for the Ceremony
The day began with quiet anticipation as Rosa and James prepared for their intimate ceremony. Their nerves, excitement, and joy were palpable—a beautiful mix of emotions that made every moment leading up to the “I do” so special.
The Ceremony at eSpace Studio
The ceremony took place at eSpace Studio in Markham, and it was nothing short of stunning. This was my first time photographing at the venue, and I was blown away by its modern, chic design. The soft blush-pink tones, elegant chandeliers, and natural light streaming through large windows created a dreamy atmosphere.
eSpace Studio is perfect for small weddings, comfortably seating 20-25 guests. It’s also a great option for couples who want creative portraits without worrying about the weather or lackluster outdoor options. Rosa and James’s ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, from their emotional vows to their joyful first kiss as newlyweds.
A Quick Break Before the Party
After the ceremony, we had a short break as we transitioned to the reception at Crown Prince Fine Dining, just 10 minutes away. This small pause gave Rosa and James a moment to breathe and enjoy some quiet time together while my team and I prepared for the next chapter of the day.
The Reception at Crown Prince Fine Dining
The reception was held at the elegant Crown Prince Fine Dining, a venue known for its luxurious ambiance and impeccable service. The room was beautifully decorated, and the energy was electric from the moment guests arrived.
The emcee, also from Toronto Dating Hub, was the life of the party. She brought so much personality and humor to the evening, keeping everyone engaged with activities like the shoe game and creative ways to get guests involved (like deciding who could land the fanciest kiss). Along with the DJ, she kept the dance floor packed all night long.
Another highlight was the O Hey Photo Booth, where guests had a blast posing with fun props and taking home prints as keepsakes. The laughter and goofiness at the booth were contagious, creating some of my favourite candid moments of the night.
Teamwork & Exciting News
For the reception, my associate, Prince, took charge of the photography while I focused on capturing behind-the-scenes moments. Prince’s incredible energy brought the room to life—at one point, guests were cheering, “Prince, Prince, Prince!” as he showed off his dance moves. The crowd’s excitement was infectious, and it even got me into the conga line!
Here’s something exciting: we’re officially launching a videography service that Prince will lead! His talent behind the camera and ability to capture the energy of a celebration are unmatched, and I can’t wait to see how this new offering will enhance our couples’ experiences.
